A long time ago in Coburg Germany our ancestors once lived. Before leaving Germany we had to go and see where they lived, maybe walk where they once walked, and maybe just maybe see where they worked even.
Here is the town square. I love a good German town square.
A quick view of the other side of the town square.
A cute little drinking fountain.
While walking around the town we were directed to the records office but were stuck here trying to figure out where to go when we ran into the LDS missionaries. We seem to always run into the missionaries whenever we are out traveling, it is kind of awesome.
Behind us was the records office, again kind of awesome.
The records office had actually closed two minutes ago. Instead of turning back we took the chance and buzzed the bell anyway. Someone answered and let us in to read records. I distracted the crazy five children while my husband and his parents were able to look up specific names and get more information about where our ancestors lived and worked.
Check out this cool old book! Our ancestors name is in there and tells us where he worked!
This is where our ancestor worked! It's not the same as it once was but this is where he lived and worked. We went inside and talked to the pharmacist and the owner (who wasn't there at the time) had a record and a book about all the previous owners. We got their email address and hopefully we will eventually be able to get that book. How neat would that be?!
What is a German city without a palace?!
